Google and Reliance Industries Partner to Establish Cloud Facility in Jamnagar

Reliance Industries has partnered with Google to set up a dedicated cloud facility in Jamnagar, running on clean energy supplied by Reliance and connected through Jio's network. The facility will run on clean energy and connect through Jio's network. Reliance will also set up a wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, to build gigawatt-scale, AI-ready data centers powered by green energy. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the tech giant is keen to explore the "AI opportunity" in India.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to set up a dedicated AI cloud region in Jamnagar [1]. The facility, designed and powered by Reliance, will meet Google Cloud's global service standards to handle advanced AI workloads. This initiative aims to support Reliance's retail ecosystem and provide AI-first services to enterprises, SMBs, startups, developers, and public sector organizations.

Google Cloud will deploy its AI hypercomputer and integrated AI stack, including generative AI models and development platforms. Reliance Jio will provide fiber connectivity linking Jamnagar with Mumbai and Delhi. The data center will run on Reliance's green energy, ensuring sustainable operations. This partnership builds on a decade of joint work between Reliance and Google to expand India's digital access and will now extend into enterprise-grade AI infrastructure.

In addition to the cloud facility, Reliance has announced the establishment of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, which will build gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centers powered by green energy.
