Google Cloud (GOOGL.US) partners with Air France-KLM to develop generative AI technology
Google Cloud (GOOGL.US) said on Wednesday that it has partnered with Air France-KLM to deploy generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology on the airline group's data. Google Cloud said in a statement that the French-Dutch airline group's 551 operational aircraft carried 93 million passengers in 2023, and its commercial and cargo flights generated a lot of data, which Google Cloud's AI solutions will use to analyze passenger preferences and travel patterns and predict aircraft maintenance, among other things.Google Cloud said Air France-KLM will retain full ownership and control of its data, and said: "The Group will gain a deeper understanding of passenger preferences, travel patterns and behaviors to offer tailored new travel options and services, and be able to enhance flight, airport and business operations, and predict aircraft maintenance data analysis time has been reduced from several hours to minutes."Matt Renner, global revenue chief of Google Cloud, said: "Airlines generate a lot of data, much of which has incredible value in helping drive operational insights and building better customer experiences."
