Google's AI products, including Gemini and AI Studio, have gained significant traction globally, ranking second and ninth on the Top 100 AI consumer applications list. Chinese AI products like Quark AI Assistant and Doubao also made the list, with seven out of 50 web applications primarily serving international users. ChatGPT remains dominant, but competitors like Grok are quickly gaining ground.

Google's AI products, including Gemini and AI Studio, have gained significant traction globally, ranking second and ninth on the Top 100 AI consumer applications list [1]. This reflects a broader trend of stabilization in the AI ecosystem, with 11 new names appearing on the web list driven by traffic increases, compared to 17 newcomers in the March 2025 ranking [1].

Gemini, Google's general LLM assistant, came in second place behind ChatGPT, with approximately 12% of ChatGPT's visits on web. Google's AI Studio, a developer-oriented site hosting a sandbox to start building with Gemini models, debuted in the top 10. These entries highlight Google's expanding AI initiatives, with AI Studio allowing developers to experiment with Gemini models, including multimodal ones [1].

The mobile list also saw significant newcomers, with 14 new apps, as App Stores have cracked down on "ChatGPT copycats." This has opened up room for more original mobile apps [1]. Google's Gemini ranks second on mobile behind ChatGPT, with nearly half as many monthly active users (MAUs). Gemini sees particularly strong usage on Android devices, with nearly 90% of its MAU base represented here, compared to 60% for ChatGPT [1].

Competitors like Grok, X's (formerly Twitter) assistant, have also shown impressive growth. Grok ranked fourth on web and #23 on mobile, climbing nearly 40% in July 2025 with the release of Grok 4, which includes superior reasoning, real-time search, and tool integration. This was followed by the introduction of AI companion avatars, with anime avatar Ani being particularly popular at launch [1].

Chinese AI products like Quark AI Assistant and Doubao also made the list, with seven out of 50 web applications primarily serving international users. These products are designed to comply with China's data hosting and censorship rules, as direct access to many non-Chinese developed general LLM assistants is either blocked or limited [1].

ChatGPT remains dominant, but competitors like Grok are quickly gaining ground. Google's Gemini and AI Studio, along with Chinese products and other competitors, are reshaping the AI landscape, driving innovation and growth in the sector.
