GM and Allison Transmission to Part Ways After Decades-Long Partnership

General Motors and Allison Transmission are ending their long-standing licensing deal, effective December 31, 2025. The deal allowed GM trucks to wear Allison branding, but the transmissions themselves were built by GM. The familiar badge will disappear, but the trucks will continue using the same 10-speed automatics. Dealers have 180 days to market remaining inventory and remove all branding after that.
