Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: GILT, TASE: GILT) has made a strategic move to bolster its presence in the growing In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) market by acquiring Stellar Blu Solutions LLC. The acquisition, announced in June 2024 and closed in January 2025, positions Gilat as a market leader in IFC technologies and solutions for commercial and business aviation, with extensions to adjacent high-end mobility markets ideally suited to Electronically Steered Antenna (ESA) solutions.

Stellar Blu Solutions, a US-based leading avionics solution provider, specializes in next-generation SATCOM terminal solutions. The acquisition of Stellar Blu by Gilat is expected to generate annual revenues ranging between $120 million and $150 million in 2025, based on Stellar Blu’s robust backlog. This acquisition is also expected to be accretive on a non-GAAP basis for 2025 and contribute to Gilat's growth strategy.
Gilat will pay an initial cash payment of $98 million at closing, subject to customary adjustments, and up to an additional $147 million payable in cash, subject to the achievement of post-closing financial and business goals. The acquisition is expected to be financed using Gilat's existing cash reserves and an external credit facility.
Adi Sfadia, Gilat’s CEO, commented on the acquisition, "This acquisition is a pivotal step in our strategy to expand Gilat’s presence in the growing In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) market. We expect Stellar Blu’s cutting-edge technologies, combined with Gilat’s advanced IFC solutions, to position us as a market leader for both commercial and business aviation, as well as adjacent high-end mobility markets that are ideal for Electronically Steered Antenna (ESA) applications."
Stellar Blu's Sidewinder solution, a novel open architecture, full ESA terminal optimized for multi-orbit strategies, has been selected by leading IFC service providers such as Intelsat, Panasonic, OneWeb, and others. Through this network of partners, the Stellar Blu solution has been embraced by some of the world’s largest airlines, further solidifying Gilat's market position.

In conclusion, Gilat's acquisition of Stellar Blu Solutions is a strategic move that strengthens its position in the IFC market. By leveraging Stellar Blu's cutting-edge technologies and robust backlog, Gilat is well-positioned to drive significant revenue growth in 2025 and beyond. The acquisition also aligns with Gilat's growth strategy, as it expands its market reach and enhances its offerings to new markets.
