Gemini Sets Guinness Record with 1,000 Drones Forming Bitcoin Logo

Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini made history by setting a new Guinness World Record in Austin, Texas. The company deployed 1,000 drones to form the Bitcoin logo in the sky, creating the largest-ever aerial display of a currency symbol. This event was part of the celebration for the US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve initiative.
The drone show featured various depictions, including a rocket launch and the moon landing. The Bitcoin logo was followed by the text "Go where dollars won’t," emphasizing the future of money and the iconic Bitcoin symbol as the largest currency symbol in the sky. Gemini received a certificate for "The largest aerial display of a currency symbol formed by multirotor/drones" following the successful event.
The Bitcoin logo has a rich history, evolving over the years based on community feedback. The first Bitcoin logo, created by Satoshi Nakamoto, featured a gold coin with the text "BC" embedded in the center. However, on February 24, 2010, Nakamoto introduced a new logo that replaced the "BC" text with "₿." This logo was released as a copyright-free image and was widely accepted as the official symbol for Bitcoin.
On November 1, 2010, a new iteration of the Bitcoin logo was created by a community member known as bitboy. This design received overwhelming support from early Bitcoin enthusiasts and was accepted as the official Bitcoin logo. The updated logo featured a bright orange color and Nakamoto’s "₿" logo tiled clockwise by 14%. This design continues to be used to date, symbolizing the evolution and acceptance of Bitcoin within the community.
