G7: Sydney's Emerging Criminal Syndicate Linked to Underworld Violence

A new Sydney criminal syndicate, dubbed 'G7', has been linked to underworld violence, with 13 members arrested and charged in recent months. Taskforce Falcon, launched in May to quell the violence linked to the conflict between the Alameddine crime network and its new rival, took over the investigation into G7. The task force alleges that the group is responsible for 17 staged vehicles used in serious crimes, which are believed to be part of a larger organized crime operation [1].

The arrests began on July 28, 2025, when an 18-year-old man was arrested at a correctional center on the Mid North Coast. He was charged with seven offenses, including participating in a criminal group and contributing criminal activity, as well as possessing unauthorized firearms and supplying firearms to unauthorized persons [1].

On July 30, 2025, detectives executed search warrants in Greystanes and Menai, where they located $29,150 in cash, a single barrel shotgun, cocaine, and mobile phones. Later that day, two more men were arrested in Narellan and Blacktown, respectively, and charged with various offenses related to criminal activity and firearms possession [1].
