The drilling program is expected to provide valuable insights into the project's potential and inform future exploration plans.
Fury Gold Mines (FURY.TO, NYSE American: FURY) has initiated a 10,000-meter fall/winter drilling program at its wholly owned Eau Claire Gold Project, located in the Eeyou Istchee Territory in the James Bay region of Quebec. The program is based on recommendations from the recent Eau Claire PEA (Pre-Feasibility Study) and aims to focus on resource growth and enhancing the mine plan.
The drilling program, which began in 2025, will involve two drill rigs and is expected to expand resources along high-grade shoots highlighted in the PEA mineable portion of the resource. Additionally, the program aims to connect the current resource outside of the PEA mineable portion to bring more gold ounces into an eventual development scenario. This initiative also seeks to identify additional resource growth opportunities.
FURY's CEO, Tim Clark, expressed excitement about the launch of the drilling program, emphasizing the company's commitment to advancing the Eau Claire project to the development stage. He also acknowledged the growing strategic importance of the Kipawa rare earths project and the potential it holds. The company has been working to re-initiate dialogue with local community members and First Nations since acquiring the project in the first quarter of 2025.
The Eau Claire project is located approximately 50 km east of Temiscaming and 440 km north of Toronto in southwestern Quebec, covering approximately 4,300 hectares. The Kipawa rare earths project is host to historical proven and probable reserves of 19.8 million tonnes grading 0.411% total rare earth oxides (TREO).
Shares in FURY gained 6.2 in Canada yesterday, reflecting investor interest in the company's exploration efforts.
