Fujitsu and UL Solutions Collaborate to Help Japanese Companies Meet New Climate Disclosure Standards

UL Solutions is collaborating with Fujitsu to help Japanese companies navigate and adhere to Japan's newly developed climate reporting standards. The partnership provides comprehensive ESG-related reporting solutions, including tracking supply chain greenhouse gas emissions. UL Solutions' ULTRUS software portfolio, including UL 360 ESG data management software, will be leveraged to help companies meet evolving sustainability disclosure standards. The collaboration aims to simplify ESG reporting challenges and create real business value.

UL Solutions, a global leader in applied safety science, has partnered with Fujitsu, a leading Japanese multinational company, to help Japanese enterprises navigate and adhere to Japan's newly developed climate reporting standards. The collaboration will provide comprehensive ESG-related reporting solutions, including tracking supply chain greenhouse gas emissions.

The alliance combines UL Solutions' ULTRUS software portfolio, a unified digital platform designed to streamline regulatory, supply chain, and sustainability management, with Fujitsu's deep local market expertise and established client network. Specifically, Fujitsu will leverage UL Solutions' UL 360 environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data management software, part of the ULTRUS platform, to help its customers meet evolving sustainability disclosure standards. These new standards, developed by the Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ), are aligned with the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation's International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

The SSBJ's new standards, promoting companies to report sustainability and climate-related information, are now available for voluntary application and proposed for mandatory application in 2027. These standards build upon previous initiatives, including requirements by the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Japan's Financial Services Agency, which have progressively strengthened sustainability disclosure expectations for Japanese listed companies.
