Fueling Sri Lanka's Digital Economy: Bybit's Crypto Education Drive

Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has partnered with Sri Lanka's Master Trading Academy (MTA) to launch a comprehensive educational initiative aimed at bridging the crypto financial knowledge gap in the region. The program, which accepts applications until November 17, 2025, will subsidize fees for 120 students across three cohorts, offering training in blockchain technology, trading fundamentals, and risk management, according to a PR Newswire release. This collaboration underscores Bybit's commitment to expanding access to crypto education and aligning with MTA's mission to foster financial literacy in Sri Lanka, as noted in a PR Newswire India release.
The diploma program, titled Cryptocurrency Trading & Market Analyst Mastery, spans three months with 7 hours of weekly classes, blending technical analysis with trading psychology. Participants will gain access to live Zoom sessions and on-demand recordings for six months, with course fees partially covered by Bybit through 120 USDTUSDT-- subsidies per student, as the PR Newswire release explains. Nazar Tymoshchuk, Bybit's Regional Manager, emphasized the initiative's role in democratizing crypto education, stating, "Resources and education should be accessible to more people who want to build a career in or simply learn more about the emerging digital economy," a point also highlighted in the PR Newswire India release.

Sri Lanka's growing interest in cryptocurrency is also reflected in Bybit's recent expansion of its derivatives suite, which now includes USDT-margined futures and options for XRPXRP--, DogecoinDOGE--, and Mantle (MNT). The derivatives, launched in October 2025, cater to both short-term and long-term trading strategies, aligning with Bybit's broader strategy to simplify trading and enhance liquidity, according to a TradingView report. This move complements the education initiative, offering Sri Lankan traders a pathway to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world markets.
The partnership with MTA builds on a successful crypto trading bootcamp and competition held earlier in 2025, further solidifying Bybit's presence in Sri Lanka's digital economy. Gayan Abeyrathna, MTA's Director, highlighted the program's potential to connect local traders with global opportunities, noting MTA's existing community of 20,000 members and over 1,500 trained participants, as reported in the PR Newswire release. The initiative also aligns with Sri Lanka's broader economic priorities, including its National Climate Finance Strategy, which seeks to attract private and international investment to address climate challenges, according to a Newswire.lk article.
Bybit's efforts in Sri Lanka reflect a strategic focus on education and infrastructure, positioning the exchange as a key player in bridging the gap between traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems. As the crypto market evolves, such initiatives may play a pivotal role in empowering emerging markets to navigate the complexities of digital assets.
