A source close to the matter remarked that Trump likened the situation to the Chinese proverb, One mountain cannot accommodate two tigers.

Musk's public persona has fueled speculation that he functions as a shadow president in the U.S., an idea Trump publicly dismissed by pointing out Musk's foreign birthplace, which makes him ineligible to run for the presidency.
