Goldman Sachs analyst Gabriela Borges maintains a Buy rating on Fortinet with a $101.00 price target, citing the company's strategic positioning in the convergence of security and networking, as well as its growth potential in the SASE market. Despite concerns about the firewall refresh cycle, Borges believes Fortinet's consistent growth remains strong and justifies the Buy rating.
Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global cybersecurity leader, has announced a significant expansion of its FortiCloud services, integrating new offerings to enhance identity management, secure file storage, and communication. The company aims to strengthen its position in the modern enterprise landscape by delivering security-native alternatives to traditional point products.
The latest release introduces FortiIdentity, a cloud-delivered identity management solution designed for hybrid teams. It offers secure single sign-on (SSO), multifactor authentication (MFA), and identity federation across Fortinet and third-party applications. FortiDrive, a secure file storage and collaboration solution, provides advanced encryption and granular access controls, enabling real-time collaboration and version history tracking. FortiConnect, a unified communication platform, integrates seamlessly with FortiDrive to offer secure calling, messaging, and file sharing.
These new services are tightly integrated into the Fortinet Security Fabric, providing centralised visibility, consistent policy enforcement, and real-time threat protection. Fortinet's continued investment in its global hybrid-cloud infrastructure, including data centres in key locations, supports these new services and addresses growing data sovereignty requirements.
Despite the strong financial performance, Fortinet's stock experienced a significant drop following its Q2 2025 earnings report. Revenue rose 14% to $1.63 billion, but shares fell 18.91%. Market concerns focused on slowing service growth, SASE segment cannibalization risks, and the strength of competitors like CrowdStrike in the cloud security market. Goldman Sachs analyst Gabriela Borges, however, maintains a Buy rating on Fortinet, citing its strategic positioning and growth potential in the SASE market. Borges believes Fortinet's consistent growth justifies the rating, despite concerns about the firewall refresh cycle.
The new FortiCloud services reflect Fortinet's commitment to simplifying and securing hybrid operations with a unified, cloud-native platform. With a unified platform approach, centralised policy enforcement, and AI-powered threat intelligence, FortiCloud empowers organisations to optimise costs, reduce operational complexity, and protect data and users across distributed environments.
