Ford Takes Third Place at the Nurburgring with the Fourth-Gen GT

Ford has set a new Nurburgring record with its fourth-gen GT, clocking in at 6:15.977 and leapfrogging the Mercedes AMG One and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X. The GT's 6:15 lap makes it the fastest pure internal combustion car on the list and the fastest American car. Ford Racing factory driver Frédéric Vervisch laid the lap down, and the car ran in the prototype class, giving it a rare like-for-like victory over the Corvette ZR1X.
