Ford Recalls 312,000 Vehicles Over Power Brake Assist Issue

Ford Motor Company has announced a voluntary safety recall affecting 312,120 vehicles in the United States. The recall, initiated on August 1, 2025, involves certain 2025 model year F-150, Expedition, Bronco, Ranger, and Lincoln Navigator models [1]. The issue stems from a potential fault in the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module, which may result in a temporary loss of power brake assist while driving or using advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) [1].

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that under rare conditions, the EBB module may enter a faulted state triggered by voltage disturbances. Ford discovered the problem on May 14 when its Expedition/Navigator Rapid Response Team identified a vehicle with a loss of power brake assist and a stored diagnostic trouble code (DTC) [2].
