Flywire Corporation (Nasdaq: FLYW) has expanded its partnership with Workday, Inc. to integrate its payments and software platform with Workday Student, a student information system (SIS) used by many higher education institutions. The integration, announced on October 16, 2025, aims to streamline billing and payments processes, improving administrative efficiency and enhancing the student experience, according to a Stocktitan report
.
As a certified provider for Workday Student, Flywire's platform will offer real-time posting of payments, support for hundreds of payment methods, and native-currency payment tracking. It will also automate reconciliation to reduce administrative work. Key operational claims include up to 40% fewer billing inquiries and real-time API sync to post payments back to Workday Student. Additionally, the integration supports digital 529 disbursements, removing the need for paper checks and improving process efficiency.
Flywire supports over 4,800 clients across 140 currencies and 240 countries. The integration with Workday Student will enable institutions to offer hundreds of payment options, capture student identification automatically, and post payments and payment-plan updates back to the SIS in real time. This will reduce manual matching, automate posting, and centralize reporting inside Workday Student while keeping a student-facing portal for receipts, 1098-T retrieval, and payment plans.
The integration's success depends on institutions adopting the integration, correctly configuring data mapping and real-time API synchronization, and relying on Flywire’s multilingual support and cashiering automation. Key metrics to watch include uptake among current Workday Student customers, metrics from pilot implementations such as reconciliation time and inquiry volumes, and confirmations that automatic posting and 529 disbursement flows work at scale.
Flywire’s Workday Student integration will enable higher education institutions to manage all international and domestic student payments, improving both efficiency and the overall payment experience for students. The integration will also support Flywire’s Student Financial Software (SFS) solution to help institutions manage dynamic payment plans and past-due collections.
