FLUT --

Flutter Entertainment, the owner of popular sportsbook FanDuel, has had to cut its 2024 guidance after a period of "very unfavorable US sports results," primarily driven by the NFL season's unprecedented streak of favorite wins. The company warned that its US revenue and adjusted EBITDA would be lower than expected, with a significant impact on its Q4 results.

The 2024/2025 NFL season has been particularly customer-friendly, with the highest rate of favorites winning in nearly 20 years. This has led to an estimated adverse gross gaming revenue (GGR) impact of $438m, with revenue and adjusted EBITDA reductions of approximately $390m and $260m, respectively, for the period from November 12 to December 31. As a result, US revenue for 2024 is now estimated to be around $5.78bn, down from the previous guidance of $6.05bn-$6.25bn, and US Adjusted EBITDA is expected to be approximately $505m, compared to previous guidance of $670m-$750m.
