The Canadian government has announced $21.5 million in funding for five Alberta carbon capture projects. The projects aim to lower the cost of capturing and storing CO2 emissions, with funding going to Bow Valley Carbon Cochrane Ltd., Enbridge Inc., Enhance Energy Inc., and two other projects. The announcement comes as uncertainty surrounds a proposed $16.5-billion carbon capture project by the Pathways Alliance, a consortium of six major oilsands producers.
