Brandon Zick, CIO of Ceres Farmland Fund, discusses investing in farmland as a non-correlated asset that generates income, is positively correlated with inflation, and appreciates in value. He notes that farmland can serve as a diversifier and inflation hedge, and compares it to a fixed income substitute with dividends paid out to investors. Ceres Farmland Fund owns and manages about $2 billion in agricultural land assets, and will continue operating as an independent firm after being acquired by Wisdom Tree.
