Expro Group Holdings Secures Major Contract for Mexico's First Deepwater Oil Production Facility

Expro Group Holdings NV has secured a significant three-year contract with Woodside Energy to support Mexico's first deepwater oil production facility. The agreement, announced on July 14, 2025, marks a historic milestone in the region's energy evolution and underscores Expro's growing influence in the deepwater oil sector.

Under the terms of the contract, Expro will provide advanced tubular running services (TRS) and cementing services for the Trion deepwater oil and gas development, located in the Perdido Fold Belt approximately 180 km off Mexico’s coastline in the Gulf of Mexico [1]. The project, a joint venture between Woodside Energy and Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), is set to commence operations in 2028, with first oil targeted for 2028.

The contract represents a substantial win for Expro, enabling the company to deploy its differentiated well construction technologies, designed to offer a seamless solution from top drive to target depth. Services will include TRS casing, completion, drilling support, and the provision of casing accessories, cement heads, and Expro’s Skyhook® system.
