Expanding AI territory! Nvidia (NVDA.US) reportedly plans to acquire software startup OctoAI
According to reports, Nvidia (NVDA.US) is in talks to acquire software startup OctoAI.
The report, citing a document sent to shareholders by OctoAI, said Nvidia has offered about $165 million to acquire the Seattle-based startup. The company sells software for customers to use and run their AI models more efficiently. OctoAI's shareholders include Tiger Global Management, Madrona Venture Group and Amplify Partners.
Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Nvidia has been active in the M&A space recently, having completed four deals this year. In April, Nvidia acquired Run:Ai, an Israeli data center management software company, for $700 million. In May, Nvidia acquired Deci, an Israeli developer of an end-to-end deep learning platform, for $300 million. In June, Nvidia acquired Shoreline, a company that automates data center failure handling, for about $100 million, according to reports. In July, Nvidia acquired Brev.dev, an AI development tool startup, but the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
