Tesla has revealed its modular ‘unboxed’ EV manufacturing process in a new patent application, aiming for faster, more efficient vehicle production. The new manufacturing system, called the "Unboxed Process," allows for working on separate vehicle sections individually before final assembly, initially planned for the Robotaxi platform. Tesla's Gigafactory Texas in Austin is currently building the first "unboxed" assembly line.
Tesla plans to offer battery armor and rock sliders as retrofit options for the Cybertruck later this year. The Cybertruck's average transaction price (ATP) increased to $112,241 in August, continuing its third-month upward trend.
Tesla’s Universal Wall Connector, a level 2 EV charging station, received a rare price cut, dropping to $575. This charger supports up to 48A speeds, compatible with various EVs via a J1772 adapter.
The average transaction price for new Tesla vehicles declined slightly in August compared to July, but it was 10.7% higher year-over-year at $59,138. The Model Y had an ATP of $52,482 in August.
