Tesla is requesting relief from Canada's newly announced tariffs on Chinese-made EVs, similar to the 9% tariff it received in the European Union. The automaker initially supplied Canada with US-made EVs but switched to Chinese-made models due to profitability improvements at Gigafactory Shanghai. Tesla's referral program, offering benefits to owners who convince others to buy Tesla vehicles, has been brought back. Tesla's Model Y refresh is expected in Q1 2025, with both 5-seat and 7-seat versions planned for release. The company will reportedly start production of a 7-seat Model Y at Gigafactory Shanghai soon.
