The European Commission is planning to prohibit car-rental firms and large corporations from buying non-electric vehicles for their fleets from 2030. The move, which would affect 60% of the new car business, is part of the EU's plan to phase out combustion engines by 2035. The proposal is set to be presented later in the summer for parliamentary approval.
