The European Union has maintained its timeline for implementing AI regulations, rejecting requests for a pause from some companies and countries. Alphabet, Meta, and other US-based companies, as well as European firms like Mistral and ASML, had asked the Commission to delay the AI law for several years. However, the Commission's spokesperson, Thomas Regnier, stated that there is no pause or grace period, and the law will be implemented according to its legal schedule. The Commission plans to propose measures to simplify its digital rules later this year.
