Ethereum developers have reached a consensus to accelerate the project's roadmap and reduce the frequency of forks, following a meeting on February 13. The "All Core Devs" meeting, attended by at least 25 participants, including Ethereum Foundation researcher Tim Beiko, discussed the upcoming Pectra and Fusaka upgrades.

The Ethereum community has expressed a strong desire for faster fork cadences, as indicated by the Pectra Retrospective post. This shift in approach will likely result in less deliberation over upgrade scope and more assertive opinions. The Pectra upgrade, scheduled for April, is expected to be one of the largest in Ethereum's history, with up to 20 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) aimed at improving user experience and scaling.

Beiko announced during the call that Pectra system contracts will launch on Ethereum mainnet on February 17. The upgrade will also double the blob count for data availability from three to six. Additionally, Ethereum developers have set an April 10 deadline to finalize the Fusaka upgrade, which contains several EIPs focused on improving the transaction inclusion process.

Ethereum developers have until March 13 to propose their "Proposed for Inclusion" EIPs into Fusaka, and the community must share their preferences for which EIPs should be considered for inclusion by March 27. Paradigm, a prominent Ethereum research group, has emphasized the importance of accelerating Ethereum's development without compromising its core values. By empowering developers to move faster and work in parallel, Ethereum can address problems more efficiently and avoid getting bogged down in premature debates.
