World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a project associated with former U.S. President Donald Trump and co-founded by Zak Folkman, has committed $6 million to acquire A tokens from Vaulta, a blockchain platform rebranded from the former EOS Foundation. This investment, announced in late July 2025, aims to expand WLFI’s decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructure and integrate Vaulta’s tokens into its Macro Strategy reserve, which already includes
(BTC), (ETH), and [1]. The partnership marks a strategic shift for WLFI, prioritizing infrastructure development over ideological branding, as it seeks to bridge traditional finance and DeFi ecosystems [6].Vaulta’s A tokens are part of its Web3 banking framework, which supports real-world asset tokenization and cross-chain interoperability. The collaboration will also integrate WLFI’s USD1 stablecoin into Vaulta’s system. USD1, backed by U.S. Treasuries and cash equivalents, is positioned as a regulated alternative to other dollar-pegged tokens. This move enables compliant on-chain transactions while avoiding traditional intermediaries, aligning with Vaulta’s vision of a high-performance banking operating system [2]. Folkman emphasized the partnership’s potential to create “connective tissue between traditional finance and DeFi,” enabling accessible financial solutions for both institutions and retail users [3].
The market has already responded positively. Following the announcement, Vaulta’s A token surged in value by approximately 30 percent, reflecting heightened institutional and retail interest [1]. Analysts note that the integration of USD1 could enhance DeFi liquidity and adoption, particularly as stablecoins gain traction in institutional payments. However, the political ties of WLFI may attract regulatory scrutiny, with historical precedents showing mixed outcomes for similar partnerships [1]. Vaulta’s CEO, Yves La Rose, highlighted the collaboration’s role in advancing a “more accessible financial system,” underscoring the project’s broader ambition to standardize decentralized banking [1].
WLFI’s recent acquisition of 3,400 ETH ($13 million) one day prior to the Vaulta announcement further signals its aggressive treasury diversification strategy, expanding its Ethereum reserves to $275 million [5]. The firm’s governance token holders recently approved a proposal to make the token tradable within weeks, a move expected to boost liquidity and market integration [7]. This development, coupled with the Vaulta partnership, positions WLFI as a key player in scaling Web3 infrastructure.
The partnership’s success hinges on USD1’s regulatory compliance and the scalability of Vaulta’s cross-chain protocols. While DeFi adoption remains fragmented, the integration of stablecoins into institutional-grade systems could accelerate mainstream acceptance. Vaulta’s rebranding from the EOS Foundation reflects its pivot toward enterprise-grade DeFi applications, a trajectory aligned with WLFI’s vision for a scalable Web3 ecosystem [4]. The collaboration also highlights the growing convergence of traditional finance and blockchain, as firms seek to leverage regulatory-friendly frameworks to mitigate risks associated with decentralized systems.
