MegaETH's Initial Coin Offering (ICO) has drawn $350 million in pre-deposits at a hypothetical $7 billion fully diluted valuation, marking one of the fastest oversubscribed token sales in Ethereum's history. The layer-2 scaling solution, which promises near-instant transaction speeds, launched its public sale on October 27 and quickly exceeded capacity by five times within hours, according to a Coinotag report. The project's token generation event is expected to finalize allocations in mid-December, with a full launch targeted for January 2026, the Coinotag report said.

The ICO's rapid success underscores growing demand for scalable Ethereum solutions as the network grapples with congestion. MegaETH's architecture, which leverages real-time execution and a 10 billion token supply, has attracted high-profile backers including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and ConsenSys founder Joe Lubin. A $20 million seed round led by Dragonfly Capital further solidified confidence in the project's vision, according to a Blockworks report.

Despite the $7 billion hypothetical valuation, the actual fully diluted valuation post-adjustment is capped at $999 million for the 5% token supply sold in the public auction, the Coinotag report said. This deliberate underpricing strategy aims to align with broader market dynamics. Blockchain researcher Dr. Elena Vasquez noted that MegaETH's approach — selling tokens at a lower initial valuation — encourages community participation and long-term price discovery, contrasting with projects that launch at inflated valuations only to face sharp corrections.

Polymarket data suggests an 89% probability that MEGA will exceed a $2 billion FDV within 24 hours of the token's launch, the Blockworks analysis found. The ICO's timing also coincides with broader crypto market optimism.
