Ethereum Foundation Unveils New Leadership Duo Amidst ETH Challenges
The Ethereum Foundation (EF), one of the largest non-profits in the crypto space, has unveiled a new leadership structure in response to community concerns about the ETH ecosystem's recent challenges. The new structure consists of two co-directors, Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak, who will assume their roles on March 17, 2025.
Wang, a core researcher at the EF, has contributed significantly to the Ethereum beacon chain and brings extensive research experience to her new position. Stańczak, the founder of Nethermind, one of the largest execution clients on the Ethereum blockchain, will focus on replicating Nethermind's effective talent recruitment and training pipeline at the Foundation.
Under the leadership of Wang and Stańczak, the EF aims to ensure that Ethereum and its ecosystem grow while advancing the core values that motivated its existence, such as open source, permissionless global collaboration, privacy, and security. Stańczak will continue to be involved in Nethermind but is transitioning out of his CEO position.
In addition to the new leadership structure, former EF developer Danny Ryan will return as co-founder of Etherealize, which will serve as the institutional marketing and product arm for the Ethereum ecosystem. Ryan will share the leadership position with Vivek Raman. Their work at Etherealize will focus on real adoption, commonsense regulation, ecosystem development, and critical R&D across L1, L2, and the application layer.
The Ether token's price has experienced a 20% decline in the past seven days, with the token currently valued at $2,212.
