Ethereum Foundation Appoints New Co-Executive Directors
The Ethereum Foundation has announced a significant leadership restructuring, appointing Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak as co-Executive Directors, effective March 17. This move is part of the Foundation's commitment to enhancing Ethereum's governance and security, as well as preparing for innovation and global expansion.
Wang, a core researcher at the Ethereum Foundation for seven years, has been instrumental in creating the beacon chain and has a deep connection with Ethereum's research and grassroots foundation. Stańczak, the current CEO of Nethermind, has led the company to become a global success and has strengthened Ethereum's technological growth and development.
The appointment of Wang and Stańczak comes after Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced in early 2025 that executive changes would take place. The Foundation has been working to address technical expertise issues, and the leadership restructuring is expected to improve the Foundation's performance and make Ethereum more successful in its competitive blockchain environment.
The new leadership team at Ethereum will lead the upcoming development cycle while safeguarding the network's essential principles. The Foundation remains dedicated to leading innovation, maintaining security, and embracing worldwide partnerships as it positions Ethereum for blockchain dominance.
