The Ethereum community has overwhelmingly backed Danny Ryan as the new leader of the Ethereum Foundation, with 99% support in an on-chain vote. The vote, conducted on votedannyryan.com, saw 325 addresses supporting Ryan, with only 3% (10 addresses) voting against. The supporting addresses held a total of 51,198 ETH, approximately $164 million, while the opposing addresses held only 8.85 ETH.
Danny Ryan, a former researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, has played a crucial role in the development of Ethereum 2.0. He served as the lead coordinator for the Ethereum "The Merge" upgrade and oversaw the launch of the Beacon Chain in 2021. Ryan has also been actively involved in Ethereum Improvement Proposals progress updates. His departure from the Ethereum Foundation was announced in September 2024, concluding his seven-year contribution to the Ethereum ecosystem.
