Ethereum Community Conference 2024 to Host 6,400 Attendees in Cannes

The Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC[8]) is set to take place from 30 June to 3 July in Cannes, France. This non-profit initiative by the Ethereum community for the Ethereum community will welcome over 6,400 attendees, 390 speakers, and 64 sponsors, along with 580 side events. Notable figures such as Vitalik Buterin, Stani Kulechov, Charles Guillemet, and Robinhood’s crypto team are among the confirmed speakers. Additionally, the Mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, will deliver a keynote on the adoption of blockchain technology in France.
EthCC has evolved significantly since its inception, growing from a small community meetup to the largest Ethereum-focused event in Europe. The conference now features dedicated tracks on various topics, including zero-knowledge proofs, Layer 2s, public goods, and crypto policy. New initiatives like EthVC have been launched to connect builders with investors, and support services such as childcare and quiet workspaces have been expanded to make the event more accessible and inclusive. The organizers remain committed to personally selecting every speaker to maintain the quality of content, ensuring that the event stays true to Ethereum’s core values of inclusivity, innovation, and decentralization.
This year, EthCC[8] will introduce new tracks and initiatives that reflect the evolving Ethereum ecosystem. There will be a greater focus on fintech integration and the convergence of AI and blockchain technologies. A new track dedicated to product and marketing will also be launched, emphasizing the importance of translating great technology into tools that people actually use. The conference aims to foster meaningful dialogue between regulators and the Ethereum community, providing a platform for policymakers to engage directly with the builders shaping the infrastructure they are looking to regulate.
Cannes was chosen as the host city for EthCC[8] due to its ideal setting and infrastructure. The Palais des Festivals offers the space and facilities needed to accommodate a growing audience, while the city itself is known for hosting over 240 conferences annually. Cannes is also highly walkable and secure, with strong coordination between local authorities and event organizers to ensure safety. The support from the local government has been remarkable, with the city embracing digital assets and over 30% of shops now accepting crypto payments. Hosting EthCC[8] at the same iconic venue as other major events signals that Ethereum has earned its place on the world stage.
On the community front, EthCC[8] will welcome the next generation of builders by offering a nursery and childcare options to support parents attending the conference. This addition reflects the maturing ecosystem and the conference’s commitment to inclusivity and support for its community members. The event aims to create a platform where diverse voices from across the ecosystem can be heard, fostering collaboration and moving the space forward.
