The EPF Scheme 2026 allows the Central Government to defer or reduce EPF contributions during a pandemic, endemic, or national disaster. The government can reduce the employer's contribution, employee's contribution, or both for up to three months at a time. However, this does not mean that employees can independently lower their PF deductions. The normal contribution rules continue to apply unless the government issues a specific order invoking this emergency provision.
