Entergy's board of directors has expanded to 11 members with the appointment of R. Lewis Ropp as an independent director, effective August 15. Ropp will serve on the audit and corporate governance committees. He recently retired as senior equity partner and senior managing director of Barrow Hanley Global Investors.

Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR) has expanded its board of directors to 11 members with the appointment of R. Lewis Ropp as an independent director, effective August 15, 2025. Ropp, a retired senior equity partner and managing director from Barrow Hanley Global Investors, brings extensive experience in finance, capital markets, and energy operations to the role.

Ropp will serve on the audit and corporate governance committees, adding his expertise to Entergy's strategic decision-making process. His background includes roles at Baker Hughes Company, Shell Oil Company, and various financial institutions, as well as an education in mechanical engineering and finance. He previously managed over $5 billion in assets at Barrow Hanley and served on the Executive Committee from 2017 to 2024 [2].

This appointment follows a strong first-quarter performance for Entergy, with an adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.82, exceeding expectations, but revenue falling short of forecasts [3]. The company has also completed the sale of its natural gas distribution business to Delta Utilities and settled forward sale agreements as part of its equity distribution program [3].

Entergy, a Fortune 500 company, provides electricity to 3 million customers across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. The utility giant has maintained dividend payments for 38 consecutive years and raised them for the past decade [4].
