Energy Vault and PG&E have completed the Calistoga Resiliency Center, a hybrid microgrid energy storage facility in California. The facility integrates hydrogen fuel cells and lithium-ion batteries to provide power during Public Safety Power Shutoffs due to wildfires and extreme weather events. The 293 MWh system serves 1,600 PG&E customers and maintains power for at least 48 hours with a peak output of 8.5 MW. This project addresses the need for long-duration energy storage and aligns with California's Renewable Portfolio Standard.
