Emirates Airline Partners with Crypto.com for Digital Currency Payments
Emirates Airline has taken a significant step towards embracing digital currencies by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Crypto.com. This partnership aims to integrate Crypto.com Pay into Emirates' booking and payment systems by next year, aligning with Dubai's vision for financial innovation and crypto adoption. The collaboration was formalized in the presence of key figures, including His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, and Michael Doersam, Emirates’ Chief Financial & Group Services Officer. Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, and Mohammed Al Hakim, President of Crypto.com’s United Arab Emirate’s operations, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Adnan Kazim highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership, stating that it reflects Emirates' commitment to meeting evolving customer preferences and tapping into younger, tech-savvy customer segments who prefer digital currencies. This move is in line with Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of financial innovation, providing customers with greater flexibility and choice in how they transact with Emirates. The MoU not only covers Emirates but also extends to Dubai Duty Free, paving the way for exploring crypto payments both in-store and online.
