Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer said on Thursday it delivered 47 aircraft in the second quarter, up 88% year-on-year, and reiterated its full-year outlook, despite ongoing supply chain issues in the aerospace industry.
As the world’s third-largest aircraft maker, the company delivered 19 commercial aircraft and 27 business jets, as well as a C-390 Millennium military aircraft, between April and June.
Embraer said in a securities filing that, as of the end of June, its backlog of firm orders stood at $21.1bn, the highest in seven years.
The report was released ahead of the Paris Air Show, where aircraft makers typically announce big orders. Investors are optimistic about Embraer’s order book outlook, with the company’s share price up more than 80 per cent so far this year.
As airlines struggle with shortages of large single-aisle aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, Embraer is seeking to convert business jet order options into firm orders for its next-generation E2 jet.
The company plans to deliver 72-80 commercial aircraft this year, up from 64 in 2022, and 125-135 business jets, up from 115 in 2023.
