John Stringer, a Bay Area resident and founder of Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley, has grown the organization to 6,000 members and 1.2 million followers on X since its inception in 2018. Stringer's enthusiasm for Elon Musk and Tesla is evident, and he sees Musk as a "visionary" who is often unfairly portrayed by the media. His journey with Tesla began due to the horrendous traffic in the Bay Area, which led him to seek an electric vehicle for its access to carpool lanes and tax credits. After experiencing the Model 3's software integration and features, Stringer was sold on Tesla and started the Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley chapter in October 2018.
