Eldorado Gold names Christian Milau president

Eldorado Gold Corporation (NYSE:EGO) has appointed Christian Milau as its new president, effective immediately. This strategic move comes as the company continues to build momentum following its strong Q2 2025 financial performance. The appointment of Milau, who previously served as the company's vice president of operations, underscores Eldorado's commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and driving growth [1].

Milau's extensive experience in the mining industry, particularly in gold and base metal operations, positions him well to lead Eldorado through its next phase of development. His tenure at the company has been marked by significant contributions to operational improvements and project advancements, including the Skouries project in Greece, which remains a key growth initiative for Eldorado.

In Q2 2025, Eldorado reported robust financial results, with total revenue reaching $451.7 million, a 52% year-over-year increase. Net earnings from continuing operations stood at $139 million, and adjusted net earnings were $90.1 million. The company produced 133,769 ounces of gold during the quarter, with sales of 131,489 ounces at an average realized gold price of $3,270 per ounce [1].

Despite the impressive financial performance, Eldorado faced increased production costs, with all-in sustaining costs (AISC) rising to $1,520 per ounce. The company attributed this to higher royalties due to elevated gold prices and increased labor expenses. However, the appointment of Milau as president is expected to help Eldorado navigate these challenges and maintain its growth trajectory.

Milau's appointment follows Eldorado's recent announcements of strong Q2 2025 results and the progress at its Skouries project, which is now 70% complete. His leadership will be crucial as Eldorado continues to explore, develop, and operate gold and base metal properties, primarily through its Kisladag and Efemçukuru gold mines in Türkiye, the Lamaque gold mine in Quebec, Canada, and the Olympias and Skouries copper-gold projects in Greece.
