eHealth says Fran Soistman to retire, remain on eHealth board

Fran Soistman, who has served as the company's CEO, will retire and remain on the eHealth Board of Directors. Derrick Duke, currently CEO of Magellan Health, will succeed Soistman as the new CEO, effective September 18, 2025.Soistman, who will retire as CEO but continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors, will remain with eHealth as an executive advisor through December 31, 2025, to assist with the leadership transition [1]. Derrick Duke will join eHealth on August 4, 2025, to begin the transition process before officially stepping into the CEO role [2].
Duke brings over 30 years of strategic leadership and financial expertise in the health insurance and managed care sectors. He previously held senior leadership roles at Magellan Health and HealthMarkets, including serving as Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Magellan and Chief Investment Officer at HealthMarkets [1]. His experience in driving operational efficiency and strategic growth is expected to benefit eHealth during its next phase of growth.
Beth Brooke, Chair of eHealth's Board of Directors, expressed confidence in Duke’s leadership capabilities, citing his combination of financial acumen, operational expertise, and healthcare industry knowledge.
