Ecore International, a global leader in circularity, has announced the acquisition of HTI Recycling, a leading tire collection, recycling, reuse, and crumb rubber manufacturer. The acquisition aims to strengthen Ecore's supply chain and expand its scale, aligning with the company's mission to reduce rubber waste and support a more sustainable future.

Based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Ecore offers innovative surface products and waste solutions that deliver high performance while making a significant impact on sustainability, safety, and personal wellbeing. With millions of tons of rubber waste worldwide, Ecore is at the forefront of upcycling rubber through its TRUcircularity™ program, which reclaims end-of-life rubber and transforms it into new, high-performance surfaces with a zero-waste outcome [1].

HTI Recycling, based in Lockport, New York, has deep roots in circularity, tracing back to its founder Derek Martin's early work reclaiming and recycling used Guinness barrels. The company has since grown into a leader in tire recycling across the Northeast, known for its innovation and reliability [1].

The acquisition brings together two family-run businesses with a shared vision of delivering high-quality products and services that support a circular economy. Art Dodge, CEO of Ecore, stated, "This acquisition is a meaningful step in Ecore’s strategy to rid the world of rubber waste by strengthening our supply chain and expanding our scale. We are excited to welcome HTI to the Ecore team as we work together for a more sustainable future" [1].

As part of this acquisition, Ecore welcomes 81 new employees to the team. Together, Ecore and HTI will drive innovation in materials science and transportation, bringing materials back to life for the good of the environment, communities, and businesses [1].

This acquisition aligns with Ecore's strategy to build on its core circularity strategy, further bolstering its supply chain and capabilities to deliver for its customers. Kal Krishan, President of Ecore’s Materials Business Unit, noted, "This acquisition will further bolster our supply chain and build on existing capabilities to deliver for our customers" [1].

The food waste recycling machine market is also experiencing significant growth, driven by increasing environmental awareness, stringent waste management regulations, and the pressing need to address the colossal volumes of food waste generated worldwide. The market is anticipated to reach USD 5.87 billion by 2035, with a constant CAGR growth of 6.6% [2].
