Ecommerce majors Amazon India and Flipkart are optimizing product listings for better visibility on large language model (LLM) chatbots. They are piloting ChatGPT search optimization and in talks with third-party firms offering generative engine optimization (GEO) services. Other ecommerce players and quick commerce firms are likely to follow suit as users move to LLM search. This development follows NPCI's integration with ChatGPT in October, allowing users to shop directly from BigBasket via ChatGPT and pay through UPI without leaving the platform.
