ECB Cuts Interest Rates to Boost Economy Amid Easing Inflation

The European Central Bank (ECB) has cut its key deposit rate by a quarter of a percentage point to 2%, leaving it at half the level of a year ago. The main lending rate has also been reduced by a quarter of a point to 2.15%. Economists expect another rate cut in September to 1.75%, as inflation continues to ease.
