Easygroup Enters Crypto Market with New App Easybitcoin

Easygroup, founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, has launched a mobile app called Easybitcoin.app that allows users to buy, hold, and sell bitcoin, as well as earning rewards on their balances. The app is currently only available in the US and is set to expand to the UK later this year. Users can earn up to a 4.5% interest rate on their USD balances, paid out in bitcoin, and a 2% rate for balances under $10. The app is powered by Uphold, an on-chain finance infrastructure provider.

EasyGroup, the London-based creator of the easy family of brands including easyJet.com and easyHotel.com, has entered the cryptocurrency sector with the launch of EasyBitcoin.app. The mobile app, which is currently available in the US and set to expand to the UK later this year, aims to make buying, holding, and selling bitcoin more accessible and rewarding for everyday users.

EasyBitcoin.app is powered by Uphold, a leading infrastructure provider for on-chain finance. The app offers multiple ways to earn additional bitcoin, including a 1% welcome bonus on the first $5,000 of recurring buys each month, a 2% annual reward on all bitcoin holdings kept for three months, and a 4.5% APY on USD balances with interest paid out in bitcoin.

A recent survey by Opinion Matters revealed that 88% of respondents trust bitcoin to grow their money over the next decade, and 57% prefer bitcoin over traditional savings accounts. However, barriers to adoption remain, with almost half of respondents finding it difficult to buy, sell, or hold bitcoin due to the complexity of existing platforms.
