Dymension Launches Mainnet with $400 Million Airdrop, Kicks Off Season 2

Dymension has launched its mainnet with a significant airdrop, the Genesis Rolldrop Season 1, distributing over $400 million in tokens to early adopters. This initial release is just a prototype of the protocol's ambitious goals. Having made substantial progress since its launch, Dymension is now preparing for the Beyond update and the commencement of Season 2.

Season 2 represents the next phase of Dymension's development, where it aims to become a Universal Settlement Layer on modular blockchain networks and RollApps. This evolution is facilitated by the Beyond upgrade, which scales Dymension's vision. To participate in Season 2, users must register their wallets through a staged process defined by different address masses. The first wave, known as "Dymond Hands," is currently open and is limited to those who staked a minimum of 17 DYM and have not withdrawn it since June 2024. Future waves will have alternative requirements, and details will be announced step by step.

Season 2 introduces a points-earning system called DYMONDs, which can be exchanged for DYM. The enrollment for Wave 1 will continue until the distribution of DYMONDs begins. Onchain activities will be tracked from Season 2 onwards, and users can redeem DYMONDs for DYM during claim windows. The greatest rewards are given to participants who are active throughout the season. Eligible activities for earning DYMONDs include IRO trading, depositing USDC on Dymension, liquidity bridging, providing liquidity on Dymension DEX, and locking liquidity TVL in RollApps, among others. The status of DYMONDs is monitored in real-time through the portal dashboard.

Dymension also offers a referral program where users can earn additional DYMONDs by inviting their network to join. Referrers receive a 10 percent commission on the DYMONDs earned by their referrals without reducing the referrals' earnings. Both the referrer and the referred user receive a sign-up bonus, which is tracked through the portal.

Season 2 also introduces regular and substantial rewards through the Staker Boost program. All DYMONDs earned during the season are augmented by a staking gain, with a multiplier of up to 5x based on the duration and volume of staked DYM. Creators are also recognized, with the quickest method to earn DYMONDs being to build and attract Television Locked-in-Value (TVL) using a dedicated RollApp. The Dymension Foundation provides endorsements of up to $10,000 per month to builder teams, with grants awarded based on quality, impact, and contribution to the ecosystem.

Season 2 marks the beginning of the Beyond upgrade, providing access to high-performance layers that form the foundations of the blockchain, faster execution, and a more integrated ecosystem. Dymension is entering its most crucial stage, encouraging users to get tokens, trade tokens, build applications, stake DYM, and more. Registration for Season 2 has officially opened, inviting users to take a step Beyond and actively participate in the ecosystem.
