Duke Energy Florida Celebrates Delivering on Nearly 750-Megawatt Solar Commitment in Florida

Duke Energy Florida has successfully fulfilled its commitment to deliver nearly 750 megawatts (MW) of solar energy to the state, marking a significant milestone in its clean energy transition. The company's 10 Clean Energy Connection solar energy sites are now fully operational, generating enough electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 23,000 homes at peak production each. This achievement not only demonstrates Duke Energy Florida's dedication to renewable energy but also highlights the economic and environmental benefits that solar projects bring to the state.

The 10 solar sites, located throughout Florida, have fostered economic development and created more than 1,500 temporary jobs during construction. Additionally, these projects have contributed significant tax revenue to their respective counties, supporting local economies and communities. The Clean Energy Connection solar sites are now a part of Duke Energy Florida's portfolio of more than 25 solar sites, which produce almost 1,500 MW of emission-free generation.
