A €646 million apartment scheme by Hines on the grounds of former Holy Cross College in Drumcondra has met limited opposition. The 1,131-home development includes a 13-storey apartment block. Only three local residents have called for outright refusal of the application. Dublin Central Labour TD, Marie Sherlock, welcomed the proposal, stating that the site should be used to provide housing in the context of a housing crisis.

EXL (NASDAQ: EXLS), a global data and AI company, has made significant strides in its European operations by inaugurating a new international business headquarters and AI Innovation Lab in Dublin's Docklands. This strategic move is part of EXL's broader goal to create 200 high-impact jobs in Ireland, with an initial focus on hiring 60 AI-skilled professionals for the lab [1].

The AI Innovation Lab will serve as a dedicated center for the research and development of cutting-edge, industry-specific AI solutions. The lab's establishment is part of EXL's ongoing collaboration with prominent Irish academic institutions such as University College Dublin, CeADAR, and Trinity College Dublin, which were initiated in 2023 [1]. These partnerships aim to foster innovation, talent development, and a sustainable talent pipeline in AI and digital transformation.

The Dublin expansion not only strengthens EXL's AI capabilities but also positions the company for long-term growth in high-margin AI solutions. The location in one of Europe's fastest-growing technology hubs provides access to specialized talent pools, enabling EXL to deliver AI-powered solutions to clients across the globe [1].

The new headquarters and AI Innovation Lab were officially opened by An Tánaiste Simon Harris TD, Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland, and other distinguished guests. The event underscored EXL's commitment to Ireland as a strategic hub for its global operations and its ambition to drive AI innovation [1].

For investors, this expansion signals EXL's transformation from a traditional business process management company into a higher-value data and AI solutions provider. The focus on industry-specific AI applications across healthcare, insurance, banking, and other sectors suggests a vertical specialization strategy that typically commands premium pricing and deeper client relationships [1].

In addition to the AI Innovation Lab, EXL has also established a new headquarters for international business in Dublin's Docklands. The company aims to continue its growth trajectory in Ireland while advancing the frontiers of AI. The Dublin expansion represents a fundamental shift toward higher-margin AI and data services, which could materially improve EXL's competitive positioning and revenue quality [1].
