Old Dominion Freight Line Q3 2025 Earnings: Revenue Down 4.3% Amid Soft Demand Environment

Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. reported Q3 2025 revenue of $1.41 billion, a 4.3% decrease from Q3 2024. LTL tonnes per day decreased 9.0% YoY, but LTL revenue per hundredweight increased 4.7% YoY. Operating ratio increased to 74.3%, up 160 basis points from the previous year. Cash flow from operations was $437.5 million, while capital expenditures were $94 million. The company repurchased $180.8 million in shares and paid $58.7 million in cash dividends. Effective tax rate was 24.8%. Despite a 4.3% revenue decline, Old Dominion maintained high service standards, including 99% on-time delivery and a cargo claims ratio of 0.1%.
