1min read China Commercial Aircraft Corporation Ltd. recently announced that its domestic regional jet ARJ21 has a new commercial name "C909". With this, China Commercial Aircraft Corporation Ltd. has three commercial aircraft products named "C909", "C919" and "C929", showing a "family tree" development.
Since its commercial operation in 2016, C909 has delivered 150 aircraft and carried more than 17 million passengers safely. China Commercial Aircraft Corporation Ltd. is continuously improving and optimizing the product, enhancing the performance, crew operation experience and cabin comfort of C909.
Now, C909 can achieve various cabin layouts, including 78-seat two-class, 90-seat full economy class, 95 or 97-seat high-density economy class, etc.; it has good short and narrow runway, high altitude, high temperature, high altitude airport takeoff and landing performance and anti-side wind capability, which has strong adaptability to the operating environment in China's border areas and Southeast Asia, Africa, etc.
C909 is suitable for building a route network based on regional airports or secondary hub airports to provide force supplement for hub airports. Besides, C909 can also use SAF fuel with a maximum blending ratio of 50% for commercial flights to meet diversified usage needs.
At the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, C909 received a total of 70 orders from HNA Aviation Group and Colorful Guizhou Airlines, including 40 confirmed orders from HNA Aviation Group and 20 confirmed orders and 10 intention orders from Colorful Guizhou Airlines.
During the exhibition, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine's Ruijin Hospital and China Commercial Aircraft Corporation Ltd. signed a "C909 Medical Aircraft Cooperation Framework Agreement". According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the design optimization, development of onboard medical equipment, promotion and operation mode exploration of C909 medical aircraft in the field of aviation medical rescue, and jointly promote the practical application of C909 medical aircraft in aviation medical rescue to enhance China's aviation medical rescue capability.
Besides, China Commercial Aircraft Corporation Ltd. signed a contract with CAE, a Canadian flight simulator manufacturer, to purchase four C919 and four C909 full-motion flight simulators. After delivery, these simulators will be used to carry out initial, conversion and recurrent training businesses to meet the growing pilot training needs.
