Dogecoin is showing early signs of fatigue in the face of a potentially historic market milestone: the imminent launch of its first 40-Act ETF. According to Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas, REX Shares is preparing to introduce an ETF that will track the performance of
(DOGE) in the United States as early as next week. The fund, titled DOJE, will differ from traditional spot ETFs in that it will not directly hold Dogecoin but will instead gain exposure through derivatives such as futures and swaps. This regulatory strategy, previously employed by REX in launching a staking ETF, allows the fund to sidestep certain SEC requirements without directly holding the underlying crypto asset [1].The ETF launch comes amid a broader surge of interest in crypto products, with REX also filing a 40-Act ETF for
(TRUMP), which would purchase shares in an offshore company holding the token. This dual filing underscores the ongoing experimentation with new crypto fund structures. Meanwhile, 21Shares, Bitwise, and Grayscale have submitted applications for spot Dogecoin ETFs, which remain under review by the SEC [1].Dogecoin’s recent performance has been mixed. Over the past year, its price has surged 116.67% to $0.2129, according to CoinMarketCap. However, it has lost 54% of its value from its peak of $0.4672 in December 2024 [1]. The coin remains a high-profile name in crypto, partly due to its association with Elon Musk. Recently, Musk’s attorney, Alex Spiro, has taken a prominent role in supporting a Dogecoin treasury project, which aims to raise $175 million to invest in the token.
, a Nebraska-based cleaning products firm, announced that Spiro would chair its board of directors as part of a $175,000,420 private placement. The firm stated it plans to use the proceeds to acquire Dogecoin and hold it in a corporate treasury, a move that could provide institutional legitimacy to the meme-based coin [2].Despite Dogecoin’s enduring popularity, a new altcoin is emerging as a breakout name. Remittix (RTX), a PayFi project focused on cross-chain remittances, has seen its presale surpass $23.8 million with over 645 million tokens sold. The project has attracted attention for its beta wallet launch, scheduled for Q3 2025, which will enable users to convert crypto to fiat in real time and send transactions to bank accounts in over 30 countries. Unlike many speculative altcoins, Remittix is building infrastructure to solve real-world payment issues, including low gas fees and rapid settlement [3].
The project has also secured listings on BitMart and LBank, providing liquidity and visibility to
holders. A $250,000 community giveaway further underscores its focus on user adoption and engagement. Analysts suggest that RTX could see a 50x return based on its current price of $0.1030 and growing traction. This contrasts with the struggles of larger altcoins like Solana and Ripple, which, despite their high market caps, are facing challenges in maintaining trading volume and investor interest [4].As Dogecoin approaches a key regulatory milestone with its first ETF, the market is also watching for signs of real-world utility and adoption. While Dogecoin’s cultural significance remains intact, projects like Remittix are positioning themselves as practical solutions to global financial challenges. Whether these developments will translate into long-term price appreciation remains to be seen, but the growing interest in crypto-based remittance tools signals a shift toward utility-driven innovation in the sector [5].
