Disney (DIS.US) is reportedly putting together a new team to manage the company's use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and mixed reality (MR), according to an internal email.Jamie Voris, the technology chief of the company's film studio, will lead the newly formed "Office of Technology Enablement," the email showed.Eddie Drake is set to replace Voris as the chief technology officer of the film studio, and Voris will report to Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney's entertainment division, the report said.Bergman said in the email: "AI and extended reality (XR) technologies are advancing rapidly and will have profound impacts on future consumer experiences, creative projects, and our business. Therefore, Disney must seize this exciting opportunity while prudently managing potential risks."He added: "The formation of this group underscores our commitment to achieving this goal."The new team is expected to grow to about 100 employees, according to the sources.
